Siemens PLM Software is seeking Software Engineering interns to join our development team. You will be working in the Data Exchange and/or 3D Visualization Components group of Siemens PLM Software. The Data Exchange Components group is responsible for the development and enhancement of 3D Data Interoperability APIs, PLMXML Adapters and 3D Translator products. The Visualization Components group is currently researching web based 3D visualization components and technologies

The candidate will be taking on a wide range of interesting tasks from Applications Engineering to Software Engineering, prototyping new algorithms and implementing real world, customer driven solutions in the CAD & 3D Visualization Interoperability arena.

Skills and characteristics

• Working towards a degree in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering – or similar numerate degree.

• Knowledge of

o C++ programming language

o Scripting language such as PERL

o Web app languages (JS/HTML5) and techniques

o Object oriented design (OOD)

• Interest in in CAD/CAM/CAE, Computer Graphics, Computational Geometry and / or Geometric Tolerancing

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work well in a team

• Excellent learning and problem solving skills

• Self-motivated with a great can-do attitude
