A strong candidate demonstrates leadership qualities, negotiation skills, technical aptitude and an attention to detail allowing the delivery of complex construction projects.

Activities include planning, monitoring, coordinating and executing multi- faceted construction projects which can include scope such as general construction, lighting, water conservation, solar (PV and thermal), central plants, smart grid and leading edge technological solutions, to name a few.

75+% Travel Required within North America (primarily CA, OR, WA, AK and HI). The opportunity is based in the Los Angeles, CA area, but position could also be based in major west coast US city.

Here is what you will be doing:

Performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.

Participates in pre-bid project walks, reviews and sales-to-operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout. Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements. Follows up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.

Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team. Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.

Performs pre-construction services, including RFP generation, scope reviews, bid reviews, preliminary and final construction schedules, site investigation/audits, and obtains bids and selects reliable subcontractors to provide mechanical, electrical, special construction or other services.

Prepares or oversees preparation of engineering re-estimate reports. Prepares and executes detailed written project plans. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting tools and works with other team members to monitor, manage and control costs. Prepares or oversees preparation of progress billings, pursues timely payments from the customer and authorizes payments to material suppliers and subcontractors. Prepares and presents periodic project update reviews with management.

Performs on-site construction services, including site supervision, daily logs, team meetings, preparation and execution of safety & QA/QC plans, and updating of construction schedules.

Participates in job site final walk-thru, punch-list generation and manages the completion of all close-out documentation such as substantial/final completion documentation, As-Built drawings and system operating instructions; transfers or excess materials; billings, collections and payments; and all project records.

Required Knowledge/Skills

PMP or CAPM certification a plus, or must be obtained within 1 year.

Strong knowledge of industry fundamentals and business operations; Excellent contracting skills; An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these in managing assigned projects; Strong leadership, listening, verbal and written communication skills. Experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or controls construction and installation preferred.

You gotta have a valid Driver's license in good standing and be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills,

Please be familiar with project management software tools (MS Project, PMCT, BIM360 and Primavera)

You are on point for the execution of complex project/program plan. Responsible for delivery of complex project/program. Performs project/program management activities (defining scheduling, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource management activities). Performs technical review of system design and documentation. Executes continuous improvement plan. May perform active role in maintaining client relationship.

Education:

We would love it if you have a BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

We hope you can demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues. Typically 10+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
