Job Description:

Overview:

As a Project Manager of Building Security you are responsible for the technical and commercial success of the projects in your portfolio, as well as for customer satisfaction. You will supervise Siemens resources and third-party subcontracted resources on a daily basis. Ideally, you are involved from the project bid phase right through customer acceptance and handover to warranty and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work intensively with the Program Management Team to plan; schedule and resource your projects adequately to comply with customer program milestones and deadlines.

  • Identify and manage risks in your projects, and escalate risks to program management wherever a risk is likely to negatively impact a key project milestone or budget.

  • Manage the KPIs in your project portfolio including Forecasted Costs, Planned Costs, Actual Costs, Cost Variances, Schedule Variance, Cost to Complete, Cash-Flow, Billing, and Revenue.

  • Manage the contractual components of your project portfolio including Scope, Schedule, Change Orders, and Risk and Opportunity.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations, and proactively communicate between all stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned and all issues and conflicts are resolved.

  • Document all key meetings, important decisions, changes in scope, and dependencies on other trades which impacts Siemens progress.

  • Create Monthly Status Reporting and Management Level Reporting for projects in your portfolio.

  • Coordinate procurement and logistics of materials and labor for timely delivery in line with project execution.

  • Manage responsibilities related to safety requirements and quality assurance for projects in your portfolio.

  • Ensures full-time attendance between project site(s) and project work in office. (Unscheduled time off requires 48-hours advanced notification unless it is absolutely unavoidable; Pre-planned vacation days must be provided at the start of the project and advanced notification provided to the Operations Manager.)

The Ideal Candidate:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Required experience: 5+ years of experience working with security systems integration in a public works / utilities environment.

  • Experience and knowledge of General Terms and Conditions utilized in construction contracts

  • Experience working in regulated industries

  • The project manager will be familiar with developing agendas, taking high quality minutes including: attendance, discussions, agreements, action items, and tracking of action items.

  • Experience developing project status reports for general and executive level management.

  • Experience working with budget financials; forecasts and tracking monthly spend.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and adjust to and handle multiple requests while consistently maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

  • Must have excellent follow-up skills and experience updating and maintaining multiple administrative and analytical project tracking sheets using Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience scheduling meetings with Outlook.

  • Experience evaluating project risk issues with impact on scope, schedule and budget.

  • Experience preparing detailed and complex analysis and recommendations in support of major physical security projects.

  • Experience gathering documents, analyzing, and drawing conclusions on complex data and information from vendors, and outside resources.

  • Experience interfacing with vendors, contractors, and system integrators to ensure timely execution of required task necessary to achieve the project timeline and goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient to advanced skill with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint and Microsoft Outlook.

  • Five or more years of experience in an analytical position.

  • Proven experience in leading teams in a fast paced work environment.

  • Commercial/industrial security experience.

  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
