The Field Service Technician is a field-based, customer-facing role that primarily executes Angio/Cardiac/Interventional as well as General x-Ray service and preventative maintenance at our customer sites with minimal supervision. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, as well as performing necessary administrative duties accurately. The Customer Service Engineer reports to the Regional Service Manager at Siemens Medical Solutions.
Desire is for the individual to live near the Chicago area to minimize commute times.

Wednesday - Saturday -- Four(4), ten (10) hour days -- Start time TBD -- between 10:00am - 2:00pm
Our Field Service Technician will perform service, preventative maintenance, modifications and installations on Imaging equipment at customer sites with minimal supervision. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, as well as performing necessary administrative duties accurately.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Minimum associates technical degree and 5-10 years of field service experience.
• Experience in testing, repairing and maintaining capital medical equipment; strong electronics and computer background
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of mechanical tools and service test equipment; strong mechanical skills.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Must be able to work both individually and in an established team setting;
• Ability to work different shifts as business needs dictate and the willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training and certification.
• Ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography.
• Siemens AXA/XP experience highly desired.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Technical associate’s degree / certification or equivalent experience preferred
• Background with refrigeration and/or superconductive magnets is a plus.
General Requirements: Job Family Responsibilities:
Participates in semi-complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.
Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices.Generally, 2-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
Key Working Relationships:
Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external contacts.
