Job Description:

Position Overview:

Responsible for developing supplier procurement strategies that will ensure optimization of Siemens’ competitive position with regards to GT Products. Determining the long-range direction for procurement activities. This includes activities such as market analysis, global sourcing, and optimization of suppliers’ manufacturing techniques and negotiations of long-term contracts. Completes very complex supplier analysis in order to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain; completes the annual supplier evaluation process and executes formal supplier development plans.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Definition and global coordination of procurement, supplier and sourcing strategies.

  • Development of suppliers to optimize cost, productivity, capacity and quality and coordinate early supplier involvement initiatives.

  • Establish detailed understanding of product cost structure.

  • Establish the number of suppliers required for each assigned commodity and the product mix and relative purchasing volume at each supplier

  • Develop supplier risk mitigation plans

  • Establish and implement supplier negotiation strategies for components/commodities responsible for.

  • Lead the supplier selection process for new product introduction for assigned commodities

  • Maintain global marketplace intelligence regarding suppliers’ economic viability, financial capability, technical capability, management style and labor situation.

  • Maintain business relationships with executive management of major suppliers to furnish and obtain timely information regarding market conditions, trends, and their effect on competition, price and supply.

  • Coordinate with Operative Procurement to jointly plan long-range needs for assigned commodities and the required suppliers capacity and capabilities

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.

  • 8-10 years of experience in complex engineered equipment marketing, manufacturing or procurement, preferably in the power generation industry.Strong communication skills at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to make analytical decisions and problem solve

  • Travel percentage up to15%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Master's Degree in related field/industry

  • 11+ years of experience in complex engineered equipment marketing, manufacturing or procurement, preferably in the power generation industry.
