The Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) will manage all aspects of quality and drive a preventative quality culture throughout the supply chain. The SQM will work with the Product and Project business to monitor and improve overall supplier quality. The SQM will be capable of managing multiple priorities, deadlines and projects. The SQM must have the ability to develop and manage quality concepts for improvement activities.
This position is based in the Buffalo Grove, Illinois office and reports to the Head of Commodity Management in Procurement of BT. The position is an individual contributor.
Introduce and maintain strategic supplier quality management activities to ensure the requested quality of the supplied parts, components and services.
Coordinate and implement a quality strategy to support the category management and project procurement manger
Initiate, lead and mange cross-functional teams for supplier improvements projects in a factory and construction business environment
Conduct supplier capability assessments and process audits
Prevention, avoidance and reduction of process and non-conformance costs caused by purchased goods across the entire product and project life cycle
Maintain and improve strategic procurement processes and ensure requirements of the Quality Management System are met
Ownership of the overall supplier management process
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/BA in Engineering/Supply Chain/Quality/Business
At least 4 years in Supplier Management (Supplier selection through Phase Out) or Strategic Procurement
Position requires up to 25% travel
Knowledge in quality management and prevention oriented quality methods
Knowledge of APQP and PPAP process is required
Analytical approach, well organized, with excellence communication skills
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience in Quality Management Function
Certified VDA 6.3 Auditor
Experience in Construction Business and Project Business
Experience leading teams
Lean/Six Sigma Certification
