Job Description:

Position Overview

Provides expert technical support in the area of Information Technology, particularly Networking and Communications.


  • Responsible for all aspects of network engineering on assigned Building Technologies projects

  • Responsible for high level and detailed designs, needs assessments, partner engagement

  • Provides expert technical support to the field in the area of Information Technology, particularly Networking and Communications

  • Serves as a prime technical contact for Siemens ecosystems of IT partners

  • Serves as an indirect manager (dotted line) to field network engineers, providing general guidance and mentoring, training requirements, certification requirement and partner alignment

  • Supports all phases of BT projects: sales, deployment, service

  • Direct field support – sales and operations

  • Partner engagement management

  • Field network engineer guidance and mentoring

  • Pipeline generation and qualification

  • partner relationships

  • Conference and trade show support

  • Determines technical solution most applicable to a BT project/opportunity

  • Provides budget guidance to BT branches / field operations

Determines most cost-effective solutions to address branch and customer requirements

  • Virtual location

  • Must be located within one hour of a major airport

60% travel

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS/BA in Information Technology or a similar degree

  • 10+ years experience in IT/Network architecture

  • Current CCIE certification (or ability to get certification in the first 6months of employment)

  • 5+ years experience in converged building infrastructure solutions

  • 5+ years experience in engineering management

  • Strong understanding of IT/Networking market

  • Other IT certification such as MCSE are highly desired
