Job Description:

Position Overview

Candidate may reside near any major airport hub.

The Program Manager will support zone resources in the project installation and measurement and verification (M&V) phases of water meter projects under a performance contract, with the goal of providing consistent and excellent service to Siemens customers throughout the country. This will include oversight on installation of projects, including adherence to contract and internal requirements, monitoring of project budget and project timelines, as well as timely completion and presentation of annual M&V reports. This position sits within the Portfolio Group of the Building Performance and Solutions Area of Building Technologies. The position will report to the Team Lead for the Water, Lighting and New Solutions Center of Excellence, for day to day responsibilities and to the Head of Portfolio for overall Managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this position will be as follows:

  • Create a costing tool and price estimates for Program Management services to zones

  • Support zone Project Manager’s with the installation phase of projects. Especially zone PMs that may be new to water meter projects. Ensure that existing checklists and procedures are followed during installation.

  • Track and report on project progress throughout installation to final completion

  • Oversee transition of project from installation phase to M&V phase. Interface with customer to ensure that the AMI system is appropriately utilized, data transfers are working, bills are generated correctly, and that customer questions/concerns are addressed.

  • Track and report on projects in M&V stage. Examples of Items tracked would be year of service, accuracy of meters tested, delivery date of reports, etc...

  • Document and report on lessons learned in installation and M&V phases for each project

  • Develop best practices and tools for both project management and M&V teams in the field based on documented lessons learned

  • Support field PA staff in reporting annual results to customer. Be available for customer meetings, data base analysis, and preparation of reports.

  • Support zones in customer meetings, RFP/Q responses, PM process and other needs as they arise.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

This position requires a four year degree and 3-5 years of project management experience. Experience with managing meter installations is required, and the candidate must be familiar with the IT components of a meter installation. The candidate should be proficient in Word, Excel, Project Manager Software and Power Point and be comfortable speaking in front of customers and internal groups. The position will include significant travel.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

Experience with performance contracting is preferred, as is experience in the utility industry. Any knowledge of electric and gas metering, as well as knowledge of the existing offerings in the field of Advanced Metering Infrastructure is also preferred.
