Blade Design Project Manager

Boulder, CO

For our Blade Design Department we are looking for a Project Manager, who is dedicated to the development of our future products. The candidate for this position will be responsible for project management of R&D activities including: new product development, new technology development and development of design and analysis tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute blade development projects from scoping/conceptualization through detailed design

  • Manage and execute technology development projects from idea generation until technology validation including development of design tools and test methods

  • Manage the project team(s) involved, ensuring their deliveries are in sync with project plan timelines, defined milestones, and always in compliance with Siemens Wind Power standards

  • Manage design rules and make sure they are periodically updated

  • Working closely with both the local and global R&D engineering teams to understand the fundamental and technical content.

  • Maintaining close communication with the project management organization at engineering headquarters

  • Effective interaction, communication, and collaboration with the design engineers in a global, team-based environment

  • Coordinate technical issues across projects.The Wind R&D Technical Project Manager will be required to possess the following:

  • You have a technical engineering degree, M.Sc. with 2+ years of professional experience as project engineer or project manager

  • You have fundamental project management skills and a proven track record in a product or technology development environment, experience within Wind Power is a plus, but not a requisite.

  • You are structured, development oriented, open for change, outgoing and with strong communication skills
