CRM Controller MDX

Position Overview

The CRM Controller of the Molecular Diagnostics business line is responsible for all finance and controlling aspects and related activities of the Marketing, Sales & Service function within the organization. He/she coordinates and prepares all financial reporting and annual business plans, and is responsible for deal escalations and validation. He/she has a key role in the MDX Finance team as business partner to the Head of MSS and other members of the management team. He/she also acts as business partner to Marketing, Sales and Service colleagues alike and supports the organization with analyses concerning market potential, revenue, pricing, promotions, margins and other key financial metrics. The position reports directly into the Head of Finance & Procurement MDX.


  • Financial responsibility for all CRM related matters within the global MDX business, which includes all Marketing, Sales and Service topics

  • Regular monthly reporting & controlling for the CRM function, including updates to senior management on financial KPI’s and clarification of impacts with countries

  • Supports the Head of Marketing, Sales & Service with financial analyses and planning in all countries as well as Headquarter functions

  • Reviews, analyzes, identifies, interprets, and evaluates complex financial, accounting, cost and trend reports in order to improve the results of the organization

  • Supports the Head of Finance with ad hoc analyses, business planning and forecasting or presentations to senior management as well as strategic projects

  • Frequent interaction with internal departments, members of the MDX management team as well as corporate functions

  • Responsible for deal escalations and validation which includes, but is not limited to analyses on pricing and volume, deal structure and financing

  • Leads the annual target setting as well as forecasting process with country organizations

  • Drives productivity within the CRM organization and continuously streamlines and improves processes to increase efficiency within the finance organization

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • University degree in the area of Business Administration, Economics or Finance / Accounting or similar combined with professional working experience, preferably from a large international company

  • Ability to work with stakeholders in complex organizational structures

  • Strong sense of ownership and willingness to drive topics across different functions

  • Cross-cultural awareness and ability to work and interact within a global organization

  • Multi-year professional experience in Controlling/Finance/Strategic Planning or Responsibility in Commercial Tasks is a must

  • Strong knowledge of IT tools such as SAP R3, Business Warehouse as well as other relevant IT Applications, especially MS Excel, Powerpoint,

  • Knowledge in the area accounting principles (e.g. IFRS, GAAP, HGB) preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability and desire to plan, control, and contribute to solving complex problems.

  • Typically 8+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

  • Flexible and able to work effectively in a team-oriented / changing environment to conceptualize and socialize ideas

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet dynamic and multiple deadlines

  • Ability to communicate across organizational levels, functions and cultures

  • Team player with “Hands on mentality”, willing to address a variety of different topics depending on the need of the team and the business

  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed
