Job Description:

Position Overview

Experienced Energy Engineer to support our Beltsville, MD Siemens Office.

Responsibilities

Conducts facility site visits, analyzes current situation and produces facility improvement measures plans. Assists salesand operations in the development, procurement and execution of performance contracts. Performs and supervisespreliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMS) and/or opportunities. Coordinatesand leads facility site visits and communicates with outside vendors as it pertains to FIMS. Assists sales in identificationand qualification of potential performance contracting projects.

Leads or assists in the development of preliminary and final performance contracting proposals. Analyzes blue printsand performs site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operationalcharacteristics. Applies building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-buildingmodels using modeling software. Develops design concepts and other written documentation to sales and managementconcerning recommended FIMS, including accurate descriptions, savings potential, cost estimates and back up datato verify FIMS. Prepares financial models related to payment including an understanding of ROI, life cycle costing andinternal rate of return. Participates in client meetings and presentations. Understands and evaluates energy supply sidesaving opportunities, trash management, water conservation, and co-generation for inclusion into performance contracts.Creates and executes performance assurance plans and assists with performance contracting contracts. Measures,monitors, and verifies project performance, particularly those that guarantee savings, through the life cycle of the project.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

Preference given to Candidate with additional Project Management Experience in the following areas; Supportingthe development of project/program plan. Supporting the delivery of semi-complex project or program. ExperienceParticipating in project/program management activities (defining scheduling, budget, risk, change, opportunity andresource management activities). Experience Participating in technical review of system design and documentation.Participates in continuous improvement activities.

Preference given to Candidate with Building Commissioning experience in the following areas: Commissioning of semi-complexbuilding systems, especially in the areas of HVAC systems and building automation/controls. Experiencecommissioning laboratory environments a plus. Ability to provide thorough commissioning and customer turn-overdocumentation a must.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field. 2 years experience in Engineering; 4-7years energy experience.

Engineering experience with Energy experience developing or supporting performance based projects and/or energyservices. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification, Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) Certification, and/orstate certification as a PE/EIT in MD a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong public speaking skillsdesired.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer relation skills.

• Individual must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing

• Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
