Your mission will be…

This position requires expertise in data warehousing, a DataOps mindset to enable scalable data product delivery and a data first mindset. You make other data teams shine! You consult, support, and enable data teams to build scalable, performant, and highly available data models & applications using the Siemens data analytics ecosystem and adhering to architectural standards. A successful candidate is experienced with handling modern data stacks, developer tools, and next-generation databases. You are proficient with cloud- and warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, AWS. You are an expert in at least one general-purpose programming language, and you are skilled at producing meaningful metrics and logs to debug and trace code in-line with the overall data architecture. You foster exchange between development teams to identify, share and exchange best practices.

Your problem-solving mindset creates real business value. This is your role.

  • You are part of an international data analytics team with diverse backgrounds, utilizing state-of-art data analytics methods to accelerate Siemens internal digitalization.

  • You build data models by extracting, transforming, and processing unstructured or structured data from large, disconnected datasets.

  • You interact regularly with other data teams across Siemens to collaborate on data modelling and data warehousing challenges.

  • You understand cloud-native technologies and platforms.

  • You are familiar in data and AI-related agile software development lifecycle methodologies, development, unit testing and integration frameworks.

  • You participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and lunch-and-learns

  • Implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data

  • You shape and implement the data architecture, including standards for data models, metadata, security, reference data such as product catalogs, and master data such as customers and products.

  • Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

  • Be a technical leader, mentor, collaborator, and champion of best practices.

  • You are working with major Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated warehouses and tools (Snowflake, DBT)

  • Connecting external data to the cloud data warehouse and apply scalable modelling and data curation techniques.

We are looking for someone with…

  • A university degree in IT, Engineering, Economics or related

  • Experience with data engineering and data warehousing

  • You understand data ingest frameworks and are familiar with tools such as Talend, Knime, Alteryx

  • Expert programming skills in SQL and preferably Python

  • Familiar with agile working methods

  • Working with major Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated warehouses and tools (Snowflake, DBT)

  • Very good command of English

  • You are a real team player

  • Fluency in other languages, such as German, is a plus
