Job Description:

Specific Requirements: Siemens Industry – Industrial Sales division is searching for an experienced, professional sales engineer with the drive to substantially increase Siemens market share and the passion for customer engagement and satisfaction. This position can be located in Atlanta, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina or Alabama.

The selected candidate will manage a sales territory consisting of large end user pulp and paper accounts. and machine builder OEMs. This includes creating and executing an account business plan focused on expanding business with prospective customers and existing customers.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a strong team, currently on a growth path gaining market share by selling the best end to end industrial solutions, products, and services ( to the Pulp & Paper (P&P) market. P&P is seeing moderate market growth and

a) a shift away from paper to packaging and tissue product;

b) a drives, motors and automation revamp potential converting mechanical and obsolete DC/AC drives and motors to modern Siemens AC/DC drives, motor and automation solutions

c) a few mill electrification (turbine, switch gear, drives/motors, automation) projects

Siemens is also leading the charge in providing innovative solutions to bolster the manufacturing renaissance in the US with greenfield projects.


The top candidate will exceed aggressive sales revenue goals by effectively executing on key strategies and activities to include:

• Improving customer productivity, efficiency and flexibility through automation, controls, drives technology and software solutions

• Understanding the P&P market as it relates to customer requirements, opportunities and strong competition

• Building and maintaining a business plan by cultivating a healthy sales pipeline by uncovering new opportunities, following up on leads and managing the existing customer base

• Building long term partnerships with customer’s senior cooperate / mill management as well as mill maintenance and engineering staff

• Preparing presentations and supporting professional proposals that highlight the value of our industry and energy P&P solutions

• Professionally escalating and expediting customer issues

• Developing a personal sales strategy that maximizes the return on time investment.

• Engaging business unit technical and industry experts+ to provide solutions that address unique customer requirements

• Leveraging customer relationship management tools to manage the entire sales cycle, prioritize activities, and provide accurate forecasting information.


Required knowledge/skills Education and Experience

• 8 or more years of successful selling experience and customer network in the areas of industrial drives, motors, automation or energy solutions and products

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

• Demonstrated business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e. financials strategic and tactical thinking etc.

• Executive level verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to win

• Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast paced environment

• Travel 50%

• Main Focus: Sales of Siemens portfolio into Pulp &Paper accounts

PLEASE NOTE: Individual must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing

Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

-BS in Electrical Engineering preferred

-Background in drives, gearbox and motor sales preferred

-Experience with OEMs, End Users and channel partners serving the customers within the territory

-A network with top companies in the pulp and paper industry and knowledge of solutions incorporating Siemens/DresserRand or similar providers in industry and energy

-Well rounded personality that sets high goals for self and others, consistently trying to meet and exceed them, even against resistance
